Coffee Drinking Habits Could Be Genetic
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – If it takes you several cups of coffee to get going in the morning, it could be genetic.
A Harvard researcher polled 120,00 people on their coffee drinking habits, then scanned their DNA.
She said she found six new gene variations that determine how people react to coffee.
They could explain why some people are good to go with just one cup of coffee, while others need two or three cups.
According to the study, the new genes explain about 1.3 percent of our coffee-drinking behavior.
