Cockroaches, Dragons For Zoo Day At State Capitol
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- There will be more than just political animals at the Minnesota Capitol on Thursday. There will be some real animals, too.
Minnesota Zoo director and CEO Lee Ehmke, zoo staff and volunteers will bring animals to the Capitol Rotunda. The annual "Zoo Day at the State Capitol" is a way of saying thanks to lawmakers for their support of the Apple Valley zoo.
Some of the animals on display will include hissing cockroaches, bearded dragons, an eagle owl, a blue-tongued skink and an armadillo.
The event runs from noon to 1:30 p.m.
