Clinton Steps Up Ad Campaign In Minnesota
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Democratic contenders for the presidential nomination are taking their fight to Minnesota's airwaves.
Hillary Clinton started airing ads in the Twin Cities region on Friday that tout her experience as Secretary of State and a senator. Sanders started airing ads earlier this week ahead of Minnesota's March 8 caucus.
Clinton's campaign launched the TV spots in several states as the focus turns to the next round of primaries and caucuses. The narrator in the ad calls the presidency "the toughest job in the world" and says Clinton is best suited for it.
The two candidates were expected in Minnesota Friday for a major party fundraiser. Sanders was also attending a forum to discuss issues impacting black residents in north Minneapolis as several local black community leaders endorsed Clinton.
No Republican candidates had reserved airtime as of Friday.
