Citywide Mosquito Spraying Planned In Moorhead
MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) -- Moorhead residents have been slapping a lot of mosquitoes lately. So officials plan to spray citywide to control the bloodthirsty pests.
Weather permitting, spraying is planned for Thursday evening, beginning at about 8 p.m. It should be completed by midnight.
Officials say the spray being used is safe for people, pets, birds and other animals but is toxic to mosquitoes.
Still, officials recommend residents don't walk through the spray cloud as the wind moves it through their block. And children should not be allowed to follow the spray machines.
The spray will not hurt paint surfaces on either vehicles or houses.
