Chronic Pain Sufferer Says Medical Pot Helped Her To Live Again
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Voters in five states will decide next week whether to legalize recreational marijuana.
Medical marijuana became legal in Minnesota last year, but chronic pain patients were not allowed to buy it until just three months ago.
On Tuesday morning, some chronic pain patients spoke at a news conference about how medical marijuana has changed their lives.
Jody Taylor-Haye, who suffers from a degenerative spinal disc disease, says the medication allows her to live again.
"I'm being able to do everything that I used to do -- laundry, play with my kid, hang out with my kids," she said. "I'm not stuck on a chair all day, I'm not going to multiple doctor offices."
Taylor-Haye says she's gone from 18 daily medications to just three, plus her medical marijuana.
