Chicago Man Arrested In Fatal Mpls. Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Chicago man has been charged in the Nov. 7 shooting death of a 29-year-old St. Paul man.
Police responding to a shots fired call near the 2100 block of 10th Avenue South early that morning. When officers arrived, they found the body of an adult man in an alley between 10th and 11th Avenues. Police said the victim had suffered apparent gunshot wounds.
He was later identified as Michael Hayden of St. Paul.
Investigators learned that Hayden likely knew the shooter, and that the two had been having a dispute over an alleged theft of money, police said.
Surveillance video helped police identify 29-year-old Steven John Williams, of Chicago, as the suspected shooter. He was arrested in Chicago on Thursday.
He is charged with second-degree murder and is currently in custody in Chicago.
