Charlotte Flight Bound For MSP Grounded After 'Undisclosed Security Threat'
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A flight from Charlotte to Minneapolis had to return to the airport shortly after takeoff due to a security threat, according to CBS affiliate WBTV in Charlotte.
American Airlines confirmed to the station that flight UA 1865 bound for Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport had to circle back to the Charlotte airport due to an "undisclosed security threat."
Charlotte police responded to the airport and deemed the threat to be not credible. The plane remained grounded as of 9:45 p.m. Monday.
The Airbus 321 was only in the air for 24 minutes, and was carrying an undisclosed number of passengers.
