Charges: Facebook Meeting Leads To Sexual Assault

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man is charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old teen after he set up to meet her on Facebook.

Brian Christenson, now 20, was 19 years old at the time of the alleged crime. He is charged with fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, the two were talking on Facebook in July 2010. Christenson asked if the girl wanted to hang out and she agreed.

He came to her Lakeville home and picked her up, but then pulled into the driveway of a nearby unoccupied home that was for sale.

The girl said they started kissing, but Christenson wanted to do more. She said that she said no multiple times and he responded by saying, "put a lid on it" and then touched her sexually without her permission.

The girl called police a few days later and when they spoke with Christenson he admitted that he was with her in his vehicle and that they did "other stuff" but not sex.

He told police that he was nervous about the age difference and said that their age difference made it statutory rape.
