Charges: Mpls Man Accused Of 2 Subway Robberies
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 41-year-old Minneapolis man is accused of robbing a Subway store in Maple Grove on Monday and is suspected in another store robbery from Sept. 22, according to charges filed in Hennepin County Court on Friday.
Christopher Tron Peters was charged with one felony count of aggravated robbery in connection with this week's incident.
According to a criminal complaint, Maple Grove Police were called to the Subway store on the 11000 block of Fountains Drive North at about 8:46 p.m. Monday on a report of a robbery.
When authorities arrived, an employee told police a man later identified as Peters entered the store and told the employee that he needed change for bus fare. He said he was robbing the place and that the employee shouldn't do anything stupid, and to give him all the money and he wouldn't be hurt.
The employee gave Peters $250 in cash, and he told the employee not to follow him or call anyone for two minutes. Peters then fled the store, the complaint states.
Peters was identified through surveillance video and has been connected to a Subway store robbery in St. Louis Park back on Sept. 22. If convicted on the current charge, Peters faces up to a year in jail and a $35,000 fine.
