Charges: Man Threatened To 'Blow Up' Eagan Restaurant
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 23-year-old Eagan man is accused of threatening to "blow up" a restaurant where he worked and kill everybody there because he said the restaurant was corrupt, according to charges filed Friday in Dakota County Court.
Cameron Patrick Seefedlt was charged with one felony count of terroristic threats in connection with the incident, which happened Tuesday in Eagan.
According to the charges, Eagan Police were called to a restaurant near Silver Bell Road in Eagan on Tuesday on a report that an employee was threatening to blow up the building. When authorities arrived, the reporting party said Seefeldt made the threats during his shift the night before.
The complaint states witnesses told police they were working with Seefeldt Monday night when he told them he wanted to blow up the building. One witness told police he said he wanted to blow up the building and kill everybody there. The witness asked Seefeldt if he was joking, and Seefeldt said no but made it seem like a joke.
Another witness said she was frightened and said Seefeldt told her he planned to do it when he was older, just like what happened on Sept. 11, 2001, the complaint states.
When contacted by police, Seefeldt denied making any threats but told police the restaurant was corrupt and should be blown up. He made the comments despite agreeing that co-workers would fear for their lives. He told police he made the comments because he was tired and stressed out, the complaint states.
If convicted, Seefeldt faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
