Charges: Man Solicited Girl, 16, For Prostitution
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 26-year-old Brooklyn Park man is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl as part of a prostitution ring, according to charges filed Wednesday in Hennepin County Court.
Mark Saydee Davis was charged with patronizing a prostitute under the age of 18 in connection with the case, which dates back to last December.
According to a complaint, Brooklyn Park Police started investigating a possible juvenile prostitution ring and learned that one of the victims was a 16-year-old girl.
The victim met with police on March 8, and she told them that a man named A.T. convinced her to become a prostitute and have sex with her uncle in exchange for money, according to the complaint.
A.T. and his uncle, later identified as Davis, drove to a Brooklyn Park apartment in February to meet with the girl. A.T. told the girl to have sex with Davis, which she did, and Davis paid A.T. money for the sex, the complaint states.
Police arrested Davis on Monday at his residence. In a police interview, he admitted to police that he had sex with the girl. He also said A.T. was his younger brother and that A.T. arranged for the two to have sex. Davis admitted to paying A.T. $150 for sex with the girl.
Davis is currently in the Hennepin County Jail and faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
