Charges: Man Hid Weed, Oxycodone In Underwear
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 29-year-old man has been charged after police say he hid a bag of marijuana and a bag of Oxycodone in his underwear.
Darnell Cleveland Harris, of St. Louis Park, was in a vehicle that was pulled over by police around 2 a.m. last week, after it failed to signal a turn and then failed to make a complete stop at a stop sign.
When the officer approached Harris, he said he could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. Harris, who was sitting in the backseat of the vehicle, allegedly told the officer, "Yeah, we smoked some weed in here."
The officer asked Harris to step out of the vehicle and began to pat him down. He noticed what felt like two wrapped items on Harris' leg.
According to the complaint, Harris then said, "I ain't gonna lie to you, I've got a misdemeanor amount of marijuana in my underwear."
Police say two bags then fell out of Harris' pant leg -- one containing a leafy green substance and one that contained what was later determined to be Oxycodone.
Harris faces a felony charge of a controlled substance crime in the fifth degree.
