Charges Filed In 1998 Shooting By Richfield Restaurant
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Charges have been filed in a cold case murder that left one person dead and another wounded in Richfield 14 years ago.
The Richfield Police Department announced Thursday afternoon that 44-year-old Michael Joseph Scott is currently in custody and faces charges for the 1998 shooting.
The shooting happened at a Chi-Chi's restaurant in Richfield near Highway 494 and Nicollet Avenue on April 4.
At the time of the incident, police said it appeared that the victims had been targeted by the shooter. More than 10 bullets were fired in the incident.
Minneapolis police initially arrested Scott on July 14 for driving after cancellation. He posted bond and was released. Officers then arrested him two days later, for murder.
