Charges: Driver Leaves Boy, 3, On Bus For Hours In The Cold
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A school bus driver in northeastern Minnesota is charged with child endangerment after a 3-year-old boy was left on a bus for three hours in the freezing cold.
Ty Stiffarm, 3, was left on the bus after other children were dropped off at the Fond du Lac tribal Head Start building in Cloquet.
Thomas Soderholm, 53, told police he thought the bus was empty before he parked it.
Stiffarm was hospitalized and treated for cold weather exposure. His mom says he is doing better since the incident.
The bus driver could face a year in prison if convicted. He is no longer employed by the Fond du Lac tribe.
