Charges: Dad Stabs Son After Fight
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 47-year-old man is charged with second-degree assault after allegedly stabbing his son with a knife, following an argument.
According to the criminal complaint, William Thomas Lewis, Sr., of Olivia, told police he got into a fight with his 19-year-old son and stabbed him in the lower abdomen and left arm on Friday.
Police were dispatched to a home on the 800 block of Henton Avenue for a violent assault and was flagged down by Lewis, who was wearing a blood-covered T-shirt.
The criminal complaint states Lewis confronted his son about various issues causing his son and his son's girlfriend to leave the residence. A short time later, the son returned and began punching his father. At that time, Lewis stabbed his son in the stomach.
The son was transported from Renville County Hospital to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he had surgery to repair the internal bleeding from the stab wound.
