Charges: Bridal Store Worker Stole Woman's Credit Card Info
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 48-year-old bridal store worker is accused of stealing credit card information from a shopper and using it in at least four other stores, according to charges filed Wednesday in Dakota County Court.
Lucinda Noyola Alsides of St. Paul was charged with one count of financial transaction card fraud in connection with the incidents, which took place between June and July.
According to the charges, South St. Paul Police received a report on July 3 of fraudulent charges made on a credit card. The woman told police six charges had been made on her credit card without her permission. The purchases were made at Walmart, Hong Kong restaurant, Precious Pedal Flowers and Dr. Chocolates Chocolate for a total of $373.96.
The woman told police that Alsides, who worked at David's Bridal as well as the chocolate store involved, had taken her credit card information. The businesses confirmed that Alsides worked at both stores and was working at the chocolate store when the card was used.
Alsides admitted to police on July 22 that she used the credit card without permission at the chocolate store, the flower store and the restaurant. Police later discovered the card was used at Walmart for a pair of headphones. Alsides' name was on the invoice when the headphones were delivered to the West St. Paul store for pick-up.
Alsides faces up to five years in prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000.
