Charge: Health Care Worker Stole $4,000 From Vulnerable Adults
ALBERT LEA, Minn. (WCCO) -- A health care worker at REM Woodvale Plain Inc. in Albert Lea, has been accused of stealing more than $4,000 from seven vulnerable adults who the employee took care of between August 2011 and May 2012, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.
An MDH investigative report states that the suspect, who had access to clients' funds given their intellectual disabilities, admitted to stealing hundreds of dollars from each individual at the facility.
The suspect stole anywhere from $178 to $780 in receipts from the seven vulnerable adults, totaling $4,07.15.
The suspect was terminated by the facility and is being charged with felony check forgery and felony financial exploitation of vulnerable adults.
