Central H.S. Alumni Raise Money For Castile Scholarship
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Alumni of St. Paul's Central High School are hosting an event to raise money for a scholarship set up in honor of the late Philando Castile.
Castile was shot and killed by a St. Anthony police officer in Falcon Heights last month. He was a 2001 graduate of Central.
Alumni from the classes of 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005 came together to create the Philando Castile Scholarship.
On Sunday, the group is hosting a community gathering and fundraiser in honor of Castile. Community members are invited to join together to remember Castile. There will be live music, raffle prizes and more.
All donations will be directed to the St. Paul Central High School Foundation, a nonprofit organization handling the scholarship.
The event will be held at the Dunning Rec Center, next door to Central High School. It is free to attend, but guests are asked to RSVP.
