Cell Phone Scam Reported In Metro Area
ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- The Better Business Bureau of Minnesota is warning consumers of a cell phone scam that's been reported in the Twin Cities area.
Consumers have reported that they received recorded messages on their cell phones stating their Visa cards were deactivated, leaving them unable to make purchases or cash withdrawals. The message then prompts the person to enter their account information.
The number that's been showing up on cell phone caller IDs is from 952-563-7000.
The Better Business Bureau said when it called that number all they got was a recorded message saying "We're sorry, all circuits are busy now."
The BBB urges customers who receive a similar call to hang up and not give out any personal information.
