CBS News Coverage Of The Challenger Disaster
It was 25 years ago today that the NASA space shuttle Challenger exploded just 73 seconds after its launch from Cape Canaveral, Fla. The lives of seven were lost, including school teacher Christa McAuliffe.
Here is a clip from the live coverage from CBS News that very day. Of note is a segment roughly two-thirds into this clip which shows McAuliffe's parents react to the explosion with slowly dawning horror.
