Cass Lake Man Allegedly Involved In Facebook Shooting Arrested
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police arrested a Cass Lake man Friday evening who they say was involved in a shooting over Facebook posts.
According to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Dwight Thomas Jones, 39, was arrested just before 10 p.m. Friday at a residence in the 4300 block of Luomas Lane SE in southeastern Beltrami County.
Jones was allegedly involved in a shooting that occurred early Friday morning.
According to police, a man was shot in the leg and another beaten in Beltrami County during a "squabble" over Facebook posts and an unpaid debt.
The conflict arose when Christopher Alex Romero, 22, and Edward Manuel Romero, 23, both of White Earth, Minn., tried to collect a debt from the Joneses, police said.
Christopher Romero suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, and Edward Romero had injuries consistent with a beating.
Another man was arrested at the scene.
Jones is awaiting charges
The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate.
