Cass County Official Pleads Guilty To DUI
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The administrator of North Dakota's most populous county has agreed to plead guilty to drunken driving for a Sept. 3 incident in Minnesota's Otter Tail County.
The Forum reports that Cass County Administrator Keith Berndt of Fargo agreed to a suspended 90-day jail sentence and $585 in fines and fees, under a plea agreement filed last week.
The 51-year-old Berndt says he had nothing to add to his earlier comments, when he told The Forum that he considered the incident to be "a serious lapse of judgment on my part."
Court documents show that Berndt's wife, Carol, called authorities to report her husband was driving drunk.
