Cain, Bachmann Headline Tax Rally
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - The rainy steps of the capitol were the backdrop for the annual Tax Cut Rally.
Headlining the rally was Herman Cain, a man who based his run for the White House on cutting taxes.
The rally is said to be the largest gathering of conservatives in Minnesota.
Other speakers included Rep. Michele Bachmann and former candidate for governor Tom Emmer.
Cain said it's the people's right to abolish the IRS and the tax code.
"Minnesotans should change who's running the country from the White House," Cain said. "This is more than just the top of the ticket. It's for other candidates down ticket, local candidates. It's about staying focused on 9-9-9, energy independence, and fixing the spending myths we have in Washington, D.C."
Cain said he was happy to be back in Minnesota, where he lived briefly while he worked for the Pillsbury Company.
