Bus Driving Skills Tested At Metro Transit's 'Roadeo'
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- More than 1,500 bus drivers work at Metro Transit, and every day safety is key.
Since the 1970s drivers have tested those skills in the Bus Roadeo.
More than 120 drivers have signed up to compete this year.
They let the WCCO Morning Show's Jamie Yuccas be the first one to try the course on a 40-foot-long bus this year. She testified that the course is far from easy. Watch the video above for a preview of the event.
The Bus Roadeo takes a break on Monday, then drivers will be back out on the course the rest of the week, with winners announced on Friday.
Those winners will go on to regionals and then possibly to national competitions.
