Burnsville A Finalist In 'Best Of The Road' Contest
BURNSVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) -- When you think of great food, do you think of Burnsville? If so, you're not alone.
The city has been nominated by USA Today and Rand McNally as one of the six finalists for the "Best Food" category in their "Best of the Road" contest.
Burnsville is up against Gulfport, Fla.; Visalia, Calif.; Costa Mesa, Calif.; Lafayette, La.; and Addison, W.Va. in the category.
In all, 30 U.S. towns were selected in various categories like "Most Beautiful," "Friendliest" and "Most Fun."
Five teams will visit all the finalist towns later this month. The teams will then choose the number one town in each category.
Winners will be announced July 22. The winning towns will then be highlighted on the Rand McNally website and in the 2013 edition of the Rand McNally Road Atlas.
