Bruno Mars Headlines Art-Focused Glamorama
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Macy's team has focused this year's Glamorama on art, celebrating fashion, dance, sculpture, painting and music.
At the show Friday night, Karl Lagerfeld, the man behind Chanel and Fendi, debuted an exclusive line for Macy's that will available for Minnesotans on August 31.
Glamorama is famous for bringing huge acts to the Twin Cities, and this year Grammy-winner Bruno Mars headlined the event at the Orpheum Theater. Joining Mars on stage was the group Far East Movement, and they performed songs like "Rocketeer" and "G6".
Although the musicians drew the crowds, the show's focus was on fashion. The show featured 150 looks, which is nearly three times the number of looks that are in a typical fashion show.
Behind the glitz and glam, Macy's will use the money generated by the show and donate it to the Children's Cancer Research Fund. Over the past 19 years, the show has raised more than $4.3 million the fund.
