Brooklyn Park Mayor Dies From Cancer
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (WCCO) -- The mayor of Brooklyn Park has died after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer earlier this month.
On his CaringBridge website, Mayor Steve Lampi's family wrote that he passed away peacefully at home Saturday night with his family praying and singing with him during his last moments.
Lampi, 56, was just starting his third term as mayor. He also owned Bridgeman's Ice Cream where he worked since he was a teenager.
