Man Sentenced For Child Porn On State Computer
ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- A Brooklyn Park man was sentenced to prison for possessing pornographic images of children he downloaded to a state computer while working as a consultant in the Minnesota Secretary of State's Office, according to the Ramsey County Attorney's Office.
Jeffery Thomas Whitney, 40, will serve five years in prison. He pleaded guilty to seven counts of possession of child pornography on Nov. 22, 2010.
According to a criminal complaint, the Secretary of State's Office contacted the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BAC) on Jan. 25, 2010 about possible child porn on the computer used by Whitney.
An investigation by the BAC identified over 1,400 images of suspected child porn on the computer Whitney used, the complaint states.
