Brooklyn Park Kids Play Golf With Local Police
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (WCCO) – Some kids from Brooklyn Park got a great opportunity to get out and enjoy some golf on Thursday.
The kids also got to do a meet-and-greet with some local police officers as the City of Brooklyn Park held its second annual Cops and Kids Golf Clinic. Each child was assigned to an officer and played three holes with them.
The officers said it's a great way to get involved with the kids in their community.
"They're spending their day with kids that normally they might not be able to interact with doing patrol so it's a good day for them to interact in a positive way with some of the kids," said Timothy Mitchell with the Brooklyn Park Police Department.
The event was free for all the kids and they each got a goodie bag at the end filled with golf balls, tees and a hat. They also got prizes for lowest score, longest drive and longest putt.
