Brooklyn Park Firefighters Give Big, Red Gift To Liberian Counterparts
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- After years of war and destruction, the African country of Liberia is getting back on its feet.
And they're getting help to establish a fire department from volunteers in Brooklyn Park.
When members of the Brooklyn Park Fire Department visited the country last year, they brought equipment like hoses and uniforms. But then they saw the only fire truck in service, and it was a wreck.
That's when the firefighters set out to help their Liberian counterparts get a new truck.
Photojournalist Garrett Young captured it all in the video above.
