Brooklyn Center Police Arrest Giovanni Williams In Connection To Fatal Shooting At Pump N Munch Gas Station
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Brooklyn Center Police Department has arrested 23-year-old Giovanni Williams in connection to a fatal shooting at a gas station.
On Dec. 11, a 45-year-old man was found shot and killed in his car at Pump N Munch Clark station in Brooklyn Center.
When police arrived at the gas station, the victim's girlfriend was screaming and holding a piece of clothing to a wound on his head. She told police officers that a man she knew as "Giovanni" had shot him after they allegedly arranged to meet at the gas station to sell an ounce of marijuana for $300, according to a criminal complaint.
A complaint states that Williams arrived at the gas station, entered the car, and asked to smell the marijuana. He then indicated that he was robbing the victim and fired one shot into his head.
The victim died at the scene.
Surveillance video and a witness allegedly verified large portions of the girlfriend's account of events.
At this time, law enforcement say they are not seeking any additional suspects. Williams is expected to make his first court appearance on Wednesday. Prosecutors will seek bail of $2 million according to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office.
