Boy Upgraded To 'Serious' Condition In Hit-And-Run
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The little boy that was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash last week has been upgraded to serious condition.
Nine-year-old Amir Taylor was riding his bike near his grandma's home in Coon Rapids last Wednesday when a pickup hit him and drove off.
On Monday, the Coon Rapids Police Department says a body shop in downtown Minneapolis called to say a customer had brought in a 1996 Chevy Z71 Glossy Black Pickup truck for repair.
It was similar to one that witnesses described as the pickup that hit Taylor.
Detectives impounded the truck and served a search warrant on the registered owner.
It will likely take weeks, or even months for forensic results to come back.
The owner of the truck denies any involvement in the hit-and-run.
Taylor has been upgraded from critical to serious condition at North Memorial Hospital.
