Boy, 8, Hit By Pontoon While Kneeboarding On Willmar Lake
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An 8-year-old boy had to be airlifted to a hospital after getting hit by a pontoon while kneeboarding on Big Kandiyohi Lake on Saturday, according to authorities.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office responded Saturday to a report that a watercraft had hit 8-year-old William Huisinga, who was being towed on a knee board on the lake. When authorities arrived, they learned that a 75-year-old woman from Minnetonka was driving the pontoon at the time of the accident.
Huisinga, from Willmar, was kneeboarding on the lake and was being pulled by his father when he was hit, authorities said. The boy was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital, and is in critical condition, the hospital said.
Authorities said the incident remains under investigation.
