Boy, 15, In Custody After Bringing BB Gun To School
PINE CITY, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police say a 15-year-old brought a cylinder-powered BB gun with a replica silencer screwed onto the end to Pine City High School on Thursday.
The Pine City Sheriff's Office said a student reported seeing it and told staff. As the school went on lockdown, the 15-year-old was isolated with a staff member. The pistol was found in the boy's bag, but didn't have any BBs in it, according to authorities.
The magazine was empty and there was no air cylinder in the weapon, police say.
The boy is a student of the school and wasn't belligerent with staff.
He was booked into juvenile jail and is still in custody. He will be charged with a gross misdemeanor, police say.
