Body Pulled From Mississippi Near Fridley's Riverfront Park
FRIDLEY, Minn. (WCCO) - A body was removed from the Mississippi River on Sunday near Riverfront Park in Fridley, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's office.
Authorities say the body of 59-year-old Fridley man was spotted by two canoeists at 2 p.m. near the river's shore, close to the 5200 block of East River Road.
The body was recovered by the Anoka County dive team, and turned over to the Anoka County Medical Examiner's office.
The man appeared to have been in the water for several days. There were no signs of visible trauma on his body.
The sheriff's office says no foul play is suspected.
