MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The body of the missing UW-Eau Claire student from Northfield, Minn. has been recovered from the Chippewa River.
The UW-Eau Claire Police Department confirmed that the body of David Patrick Rodgers was recovered Monday evening.
Rodgers, a sophomore mathematics education major, was on the bridge that connects campus to the downtown area when he fell into the river on April 19, 2013.
"I have been in close contact with the family over the last two months, and I spoke with David's parents last evening, sharing with them our campus community's continued support. Please keep David's family in your hearts during this difficult time," UW-Eau Claire's dean of students Brian Carlisle said.
