Parents Jailed After Death Of Young Boy In Bloomington
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say a Bloomington couple is in custody after their young son died Saturday.
Investigators have yet to release the circumstances surrounding the toddler's death, but a source tells WCCO it started when the parents went shopping that morning, leaving the 21-month-old boy in the care of another child as an older sibling slept.
One sibling gave the boy a bath, and that's when he drowned. When the parents got home, they took the child to Fairview Southdale Hospital's emergency room. The boy could not be revived and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police were then notified. We're told the parents -- a 25-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man -- are expected to be charged later this week.
