Bloomington Man Hurt After Backyard Explosion

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Bloomington man was hospitalized with serious burns after an explosion in his backyard that led to a brief neighborhood evacuation Thursday evening, police said.

The bomb squad recovered suspected flash powder, a substance often used in commercial-grade fireworks, at the residence in the 11000 block of Goodrich Circle.

It remains unclear if the man was trying to make fireworks.
