Bite Of Minnesota: New Eats At Target Field
As the days get a little bit brighter, we get closer and closer to baseball season and opening day at Target Field. While I'm excited to cheer on the home team, I'm just as excited for the food. Today I made the trip to Target Field to check out all the new (and returning) offerings.
One of my favorites (and my dad's too) is the Tony O's Cuban Sandwich and I'm happy to see it return.
Chef Pastor Jimenez isn't taking his foot off the gas pedal when it comes to introducing new foods at the ballpark. Considering the success of Turkey To Go's food truck on Nicollet Mall and its popularity at the Minnesota State Fair, I foresee the juicy turkey sandwiches being a big hit. Did I mention that the sandwiches are even better smothered in Ken Davis BBQ Sauce?
Since I don't care much about my waistline while at the game, the Minneapple Pie will hit the spot for dessert. Deep-fried with an incredibly flaky crust, this pie is stuffed with chunks of cinnamon-sugar apples and has been delighting taste buds since it was developed in the 1960's at Peter's Grill in Minneapolis. Found at the State Fair Classics stand, it is too tender to be served on a stick and instead is available with a big scoop of Blue Bunny Ice Cream.
