Big Travel Day Expected At MSP Airport
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – If you're traveling anywhere today, you're not alone. The day before Thanksgiving is traditionally the busiest traveling day of the year.
According to AAA, more than 43 million Americans are expected to travel 50 miles or more between Wednesday and Sunday. That's up a little bit from last year, and about 90 percent are driving.
If you are headed to the airport to fly and see relatives for the holiday, be sure to get there earlier than normal for your flight. Security lines will be long with the uptick in traffic and delays are possible if not expected.
Officials said gas prices went up roughly two cents overnight in Minnesota. The average price statewide is $3.29 per gallon Wednesday morning. Nationwide, the average is $3.43 per gallon.
