Best Singles Bars In Uptown Minneapolis

While no one place can guarantee to hold the love of your life on any given night, there are some great options when it comes to mingling with other singles in the Minneapolis area. The first step is to decide what you want and then try something new. If you're looking to meet someone and make a connection, flashy clubs and loud music where it can be difficult to hold a conversation may be working to your disadvantage. Instead, why not explore a few of Uptown Minneapolis's more laid-back alcohol-purveying venues?

The Beer Bar: The Bulldog
2549 Lyndale Ave S.
Minneapolis, MN 55405
(612) 872-8893
www.thebulldoguptown.com

Hours: Daily - 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

You can gauge a fair amount about a person based on the type(s) of food and beverages he or she enjoys consuming on a regular basis. The Bulldog is known for having some of the best bar food around (the tots are rave-worthy) and for purveying a decent selection of imported beers. The atmosphere is decidedly casual and the Bulldog is a good place to engage a fellow beer aficionado in conversation. Try a new brew while getting to know a potential new beau.

The Dive Bar: CC Club
2600 Lyndale Ave. S
Minneapolis, MN 55408
(612) 874-7226

Hours: Mon to Sat - 8 a.m. to 2 a.m., Sun - 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.

If any of the following terms appeal to you - rocker, non-conformist, hipster, character - the CC Club clientele is worth checking out. You won't encounter too many Banana Republic, polo shirt-wearing bros here. As a dive bar, what the CC Club lacks in amenities that more upscale places might have, it makes up for by far with its people-watching potential. If you are seeking a date with an individual who values a strong drink and good company over a bar's aesthetics, you will surely find him or her occupying a booth or hanging out on the patio of The CC Club.

The Sports Bar: Liquor Lyle's
2021 Hennepin Ave.
Minneapolis, MN 55405
(612) 870-8183
www.lylesliquor.com

Hours: Daily - 10 a.m. - 2 a.m.

Lyle's attracts an eclectic crowd similar to those who patron the CC Club; just add the terms athletically-inclined and sports fan to the list. The broadcast of major sporting events typically draws in quite the crowd as a plethora of TVs and projection screens are available for your viewing pleasure. And if you fail to score some digits, at least you can enjoy the camaraderie of cheering on (or yelling at) your favorite Minnesota team with fellow enthusiasts. The daily 2-for-1's from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. are an added incentive to pay Lyle's a visit.

The Rooftop Bar: moto-i
2940 Lyndale Ave. South
Minneapolis, MN 55408
(612) 821- NAMA
www.moto-i.com

Hours: Mon to Fri - 12 p.m. to 2 a.m., Sat to Sun -  11 a.m. to 2 a.m .

If the type of clientele that dive bars attract just aren't your type, you might try moto-i. Known for brewing its own sake and having one of the most coveted rooftop spots in Uptown, the bar setup is unique and conducive to meeting people. Cozy up next to the bar, grab a table or a spacious booth, or lounge on a couch. Moto-i attracts a fairly diverse crowd in terms of age and appearance, so if you have a specific type you may just find him or her here. The bar is chic, yet casual; the type of place where you won't receive funny looks for wearing your work attire.

The College Bar: Williams Uptown Pub & Peanut Bar
2911 Hennepin Ave.
Minneapolis, MN 55408
(612) 823-6271

www.facebook.com/WilliamsUptown

Williams features two large bars, one upstairs and one in the basement, and plenty of bar games including arcade games, pool and darts to stimulate those who prefer to engage in activity whilst drinking. Approaching someone you find attractive in a bar can be intimidating, but challenging him or her to a game of darts is a sure-fire way to creatively break the ice. Williams tends to attract a younger, currently-in-college-let's-party type of crowd, particularly on the weekends. This bar is perhaps better suited for singles looking to meet someone to go on a few casual dates with as opposed to those looking for something a bit more substantial in the relationship department.

The Music Lover's Bar: Cause - Spirits and Sound Bar
3001 Lyndale Ave. South
Minneapolis, MN 55408
(612) 822-6000
www.spiritsandsound.com

Formerly known as Sauce, this bar and restaurant is one of the few places located right Uptown where you can catch a live show. The atmosphere is casual and the crowd it draws on show nights leans toward the kindly hipster. If you are a fan of the local music scene, this may be a venue worth checking out to find other like-minded (and hopefully single) individuals. Grab a drink and cozy up next to the cutie at the bar or take a more proactive approach and impress other bar-goers with your moves on the dance floor.
