Whether you're practicing golf strokes with miniature Tiger Woods wannabes or just relieving the urge to whack a few golf balls through windmills, miniature golf is a fun and relaxing family event for both parents and children. Putt'er There is one of the older golf courses, in business for more than 50 years in the Como Park. This miniature golf course provides an original street car as its clubhouse and other benefits including a large picnic area. It's also conveniently close to the Como Zoo. The golf course includes different levels of play where less serious golfers may choose to take on just nine holes, and more advance golfers looking for a challenge may play the full 18 holes. Wildwedge Family Golf Park is a bit farther north but is well worth the trip with tons of family activities available in addition to mini golf. Wildwedge not only provides mini golfing but a regular golf course with nine holes that range from 75 to 170 yards. The mini golf course is designed based on ideas from the research of miniature golf courses in Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head, S.C. This mini golf course even boasts love from the governor. Other activities include a driving range, an RV Park and a newly constructed human maze with 10,000 square feet of corners.

The name alone sounds fun. Goony Golf of Spring Lake Park has been family owned and operated for more than 25 years. The mini golf course consists of three 18-hole courses with fun names such as hickory dickory clock, hauntsville and lumpy humps. Other activities available include a video arcade and water wars. The facility accommodates birthday parties and groups of up to 45 people.

The Big Back Yard is a mini golf course located in the Science Museum of Minnesota. Of course, being part of the Science Museum, one can expect a different sort of miniature golf course. The Big Back Yard is composed of 30,000 square feet of golf course with a demonstration of how water moves in the natural environment in oceans and mountains. Also known as the EarthScapes golf course, this course teaches topics such as draining the fields, hydraulic jumps and erosion while allowing children and adults the opportunity to take part in a great game of miniature golf.

The Links at Dred Scott Miniature Golf Course in Bloomington opened in 1996. This mini golf course boasts a more natural look and does not include the standard windmills or clowns, but instead waterfalls, nine water hazards and water jump holes. The Links at Dred Scott Miniature Golf Course is 25 percent larger than most mini courses at more than 5,000 square feet. Snag eagle or birdie manager's packages for special deals.
