Minnesota has high standards for public safety on the road. The state's Division of Motor Vehicles partners with agencies and public and private organizations to provide comprehensive driver education. This includes schools that have driver training. Safeway is a BBB accredited driving school with an A+ rating. Founded in 1969, the school provides driver's education courses to Minnesota teens and adults. The teen driving package includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours behind the wheel. Driver training instructors are fully licensed. Often they are former law enforcement officers and certified school teachers. The curriculum, modeled from the AAA driver's education program, has approval from the Minnesota Dept. of Public Safety. Safeway is also fully bonded, licensed and insured in the state of Minnesota. The school's road instruction places emphasis on defensive driving under different road conditions, as well as basic motor vehicle skills.
