Basketball Tournament Held In Honor Of Fallen Mendota Heights Police Officer
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The law enforcement community went head-to-head today in Mendota Heights to help one of their own.
More than 100 officers from across the state honored the memory of Officer Scott Patrick with a basketball tournament Saturday at Henry Sibley High School.
This is the 5th year the Dakota County Sheriff's Office organized the tournament.
Proceeds from the event benefit the families of law enforcement who have died in the line of duty. With help from the public, they raised just under $5,000 dollars.
Mendota Heights police officer Scott Patrick was gunned down during a traffic stop in July. A jury found 40-year-old Brian Fitch guilty of the murder in February.
