Bank Robber: Struggling With Not Being Rich Football Player
HASTINGS, Minn. (WCCO) - An Inver Grove Heights man is in custody for bank robbery.
Christopher Lamarque Miller, 27, robbed an Inver Grove Heights bank on May 2.
According to authorities, Miller placed a white notebook page on the counter in front of the bank teller that read, "Put the Money In the bag. Don't make A scene & No 1 gets Hurt."
Miller then opened a black bag, telling the two tellers nearest him to put money inside. Both bank tellers cooperated with Miller.
Police were able to find Miller at an apartment complex near the bank after obtaining a photo of him from the bank's video surveillance system.
Miller was taken into custody, while police obtained a search warrant and recovered the black bag containing the money.
Miller agreed to provide a statement after hearing his Miranda warning. He stated that he was once a college football player with NFL aspirations until he was injured.
He had been struggling with the fact that he was not a rich and successful professional football player.
Miller added that he had made a big mistake at the bank, and he was sorry for his actions.
He is currently in custody at the Dakota County Jail.
