Bail To Remain At $500K For Accused 4th Precinct Shooter
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Bail will remain unchanged for the man accused of shooting Black Lives Matter protesters last fall during the occupation of Minneapolis' 4th Precinct police station.
Allen "Lance" Scarsella's bail will remain at $500,000, officials with the Hennepin County Attorney's Office said. A judge made a ruling Wednesday after Scarsella's defense argued with prosecutors that their client's bail should be lowered.
Scarsella, 24, faces multiple felony assault charges in connection to the Nov. 19 shooting. According to a criminal complaint, he admitted to several people that he shot at protesters that night.
The five people injured in the shooting suffered non-life-threatening wounds. They were protesting the death Jamar Clark, an unarmed black man who was fatally shot by police earlier that month.
Three others also accused in the 4th Precinct shooting face riot charges.
