Bachmann's Opponent Says Her Agenda Doesn't Relate To Her District

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Jim Graves is running against Rep. Michele Bachmann for the 6th District seat. He says he wants to roll up his sleeves and get to work for the people of his district.

He says Bachmann has another agenda.

"In all deference to Michele Bachmann, she has a personal agenda, and she likes to be in the public eye," Graves said. "And she has a personal agenda that doesn't seem to relate to the district."

Graves is a hotel developer who lives in Minneapolis. He grew up in St. Cloud and recently won the DFL endorsement to run against Bachmann.

He says he has the skill needed to bring people together to get things done.

"I've developed things, I've built things; you have to bring communities together to get zoning things accomplished," he said. "You need to bring bankers together to get things accomplished."

He said he doesn't judge people if they are blue or red, and said he is confident he will be able to work in a bipartisan way in Washington if elected.
