Bachmann 'Not Ready' To Endorse Candidate
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One of the The biggest local political stories this week is the announcement by Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann that she will run for re-election in Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District.
Bachmann dropped out of the Presidential race earlier this month after a poor showing in Iowa. Now that Herman Cain has endorsed Newt Gingrich there is speculation about who Bachmann might endorse.
Sunday morning, speaking with CBS's Bob Schieffer on "Face the Nation," she refused to say who that might be.
"I reserve the right to endorse someone but at this point I have not made a decision about endorsing any one of the candidates," she said. "We are still in the process and I really truly do, Bob, want to be a unifying person in this party."
Political analyst Larry Jacobs of the Humphrey Institute said Bachmann may be holding off announcing an endorsement for "drama's sake."
