Bachmann Moves Advisor To Campaign Leadership Post
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann is promoting a member of her campaign into the role of national political director.
The Minnesota congresswoman announced Monday that Guy Short will be instrumental in the campaign's strategy to win the Iowa caucus in January. Bachmann won a straw poll of Iowa voters in August but since then has struggled to hold onto strength in the polls.
Short has served as a senior advisor to Bachmann's presidential campaign since June. Prior to that, he worked with numerous Republican candidates and conservative causes around the country.
Bachmann also announced that Ron Thomas, a former George W. Bush appointee with strong ties to South Carolina, will serve as a senior advisor to the campaign in that state, which holds an early primary.
