AZ Judge Denies Relief For Woman Tied To MN Case
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- A judge in southern Arizona has refused to remove intensive probation conditions placed on a woman acquitted three decades ago in one of Minnesota's most notorious murders.
An attorney for 78-year-old Marjorie Congdon Hagen asked a Pima County Superior Court judge in Tucson to reduce the probation terms so she can be admitted to a skilled nursing facility.
Hagen is on probation for attempted forgery for trying to cash a check in 2007 from a man who had just died.
The Arizona Daily Star reports that defense attorney Brick Storts told Judge Clark Munger earlier this week that Hagen can't get into a facility while on intensive probation. Her doctors believe she can no longer live alone.
Hagen was acquitted of the 1977 killings of her mother and her mother's nurse in Duluth.
